Lexus fans will be pleased to know that the Lexus RX 450h is now available in India. Powered by a 3.5-litre Atkinson cycle V6 engine augmented by the Lexus Hybrid Drive system, the Japanese-made luxury vehicle offers you the choice of four drive modes, with 308 brake horsepower and a top speed of 200 kph.
Priced INR 1.07 crore (ex-showroom Delhi), Toyota’s latest offering has a range of thrilling features including a full-colour HUD that projects critical information about the vehicle onto your windshield.
It also features a Lexus-first that allows you to open and close your rear hatch by simply holding your hand near the emblem. Let’s not forget that it goes from zero to 100 kph in just 7.7 seconds.
The rear seats slide, recline and fold virtually flat in a 60/40 split, and the exterior door handles feature puddle lamps that throw a pool of light around your feet at night. Those with Qi-compatible phones can charge them wirelessly inside the RX, a fab convenience for those who are constantly on the go.
The RX draws from both electric and petrol motors, switching automatically to EV drive mode at low speeds for a silent and zero-emission drive. And don’t worry about collision impact: 10 sensor-controlled SRS airbags line the cabin.
